Learnt many years ago with the Basque chanteur and vocal improvisor Beñat Axiari, this melody has lingered for its beauty… It scribes the flight of the birds and the lay of the land… It speaks of an absent nightingale - the summer singer, the singer of plenty - whose song would now have comforted us, through this winter of solitude.
